Japan Fest 2008
So today my dad and I went to an event in Arlington Heights, Illinois, called Japan Fest. I wish we could have made it out earlier or not have to be back early for work. We got there around 2:44 pm and then got back at about 5:40 pm, just in time because I had to work at 6:00 pm. Afterwards, we went to the largest Japanese grocery store in America called Mitsuwa. Prices were very reasonable and they had products from all over Japan. I bought a drink called J1 and it’s a pomegranate with alow juice. It has to be one of the best drinks I’ve ever had. They really should sell it in American grocery stores. During the event, I got to meet a nice old Japanese lady who gave me a lot of information on kimonos and obis. It actually surprised me that guys also tied their obis in a bow. Actually probably a slightly more girlish looking bow in my opinion. I’m still working up the courage to wear my yukata in public.
Next week we are leaving for Tennessee, the 1st through the 6th. I can’t wait, it’s going to be so much fun. 😀
